Although Connecticut's voter registration deadline for the 2008 General Election has passed, you may still vote for President on Election Day by completing a Presidential ballot. Presidential ballots will be available at Town Clerks' offices until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day to eligible Connecticut residents who are U.S. Citizens over the age of 18 and not registered to vote. Those wishing to vote by Presidential ballot on Election Day must provide identification which shows residency in that town and either a photo ID or a government document showing the person's signature. On Election Day, you may be told you are ineligible to vote if your name is not on the official voter list or in other circumstances. However, if you believe you are eligible to vote, you have the right to cast a Provisional ballot that day which will be later counted if it is determined you are eligible.
